Momen (Software)

[edit]

Overview

[edit]

Momen is a no-code platform designed for building and deploying web applications without requiring programming skills. By providing a visual interface and integrated tools, it enables users to design, develop, and launch web apps efficiently. The platform supports both frontend and backend development, with features focused on customization, scalability, and seamless integration with third-party services.

History

[edit]

Momen was founded in 2019 by Yaokai Jiang, with the vision of simplifying the process of web application development. The platform officially launched in May 2023. In December 2023, it introduced Momen AI, expanding the platform’s capabilities with artificial intelligence tools. The release of Version 2.0 came in August 2024.

Founder

[edit]

Momen was founded by Yaokai Jiang, who holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge and a Master's degree from Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to founding Momen, Jiang was a backend engineer at Medallia Inc.

Funding

[edit]

Momen has raised funds from prominent venture capital firms, including Sequoia Capital, Linear Capital, and MiraclePlus.

Architecture

[edit]

Core Design

[edit]

Momen is built on a scalable architecture using Kubernetes for managing application deployment and scaling. It utilizes PostgreSQL as the database management system with multi-tenancy support to handle complex application data and schema migrations efficiently.

Backend and Deployment

[edit]

The platform’s backend is powered by Java (programming language) and Spring Boot, with Kubernetes orchestrating deployment and scaling. Momen offers cloud infrastructure optimized for seamless scaling, enabling the platform to handle various workloads efficiently.

Database

[edit]

Momen uses PostgreSQL for database management, including automated schema migrations and optimized queuing to enhance performance.

Logging and Monitoring

[edit]

Logging and monitoring are implemented using Rust (programming language) for performance, with PostgreSQL serving as the log data repository.

Pricing Model

[edit]

Momen offers four distinct pricing tiers to suit different levels of user needs:

  • Free Plan: Provides basic features such as AI customization and web publishing with limited resources.
  • Basic Plan: Priced at $33 per month per project, includes features such as white labeling, custom domains, and unlimited AI customizations.
  • Pro Plan: Priced at $85 per month per project, includes advanced features like payment integration, multiple frontends, and enhanced permissions.
  • Enterprise Plan: Custom pricing and solutions for large-scale enterprise applications, offering dedicated services.

Computing Resources

[edit]

Momen allows users to purchase additional resources, including AI tokens, database storage, object storage, and bandwidth for data outflow. The Single Tenant Kit offers exclusive server resources with no restrictions on requests per second (RPS) or runtime for Actionflows.

Custom Deployment

[edit]

Momen supports both Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) deployment and on-premises hosting options for private, user-managed hosting environments.

Reception

[edit]

Momen was recognized as the #1 Product of the Day on Product Hunt on November 17 2024.[1]
