Mohammad Hashim Betshekan (born in 1967 in Isfahan), is an Iranian banker, business executive and banking expert who currently serves as the President of the ECO Trade and Development Bank (ETDB)[2] in istanbul. He is also an associate professor of finance and banking department of Allameh Tabataba'i University in Iran.
He was a member of the board of directors of Bank Eghtesad Novin (EN Bank) from 2007 to 2010. Between 2010 and 2013, he was the CEO of Bank Eghtesad Novin,[3] and from 2013 to 2016, he was the CEO of Maskan Bank.[4] Also, from January 2018 to 2021, he was the advisor of banking and monetary affairs to the Minister of Roads and Urban Development. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Iran's Deposit Guarantee Fund since September 2019.[5]
He was also the CEO of Bahman Investment Company between 1380 and 1387, from 1386 to 1388 a member of the board of Bahman Group, from 1387 to 1389 the chairman of the board of the stock exchange company and a member of the board of directors of the Tehran stock exchange company, from 1387 to 1388 an economic consultant. For one year, from 1387 to 1390, he was the vice president of economics and planning, the vice president of banking, and the chairman of the board of directors of Islamic Cooperation Bank of Iraq. He is also one of the founders of Mellat Insurance Company. He is the founder of BehRabin Management Consulting Company.
Batshekan has a PhD in financial management from University of Tehran.
Early life and Education[edit]
He was born and received his early education in Isfahan, Iran. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Isfahan University in 1989. He then went on to complete his master's degree in business administration with a focus on finance from Tehran University in 1992. Following this, he obtained his PhD in financial management from Tehran University in 1998. He is currently a professor at Allameh University.
