Mladen Marušić (1923-1992) was a vice admiral in the Croatian Navy and the Armed Forces of Croatia, he was also a journalist for the weekly newspaper Nedjeljna Dalmacija until his death in 1992.
He was born in Drniš in 1923 and was a member of the organizational committee of the Mediterranean Games that were held in Split. since 1990 until 1991, and his texts were published in Nedjeljna Dalmacija, initially under the pseudonym 'Miljenko Marulić', but later it was updated to his real name and surname shortly after.
His status is acknowledged in the Croatian Millitary and is the Co-founder of the Croatian People's Party Of The Liberal Democrats, However by the early 1990s, his participation in the party was limited due to his deteriorating health in the early 1990s. He did not hold any parliamentary roles nor was he able pursue an active political career in the party.
By the early 1990s, Marušić’s health had declined significantly due to treatable heart complications. He passed away in Split in 1992 from treatable heart conditions that had worsened over time, Marušić was buried in the town of Omiš the same year of his death.
Time in the military
[edit]During World War II he was in the Croatian Partisan movement while Nazi Germany had went to war with Yugoslavia he was injured in the leg by German and Italian troops and had fought in the Croatian War of Independence until he died due to a treatable hear complications in the military hospital "Križine" in Split in 1992.
He also held the Homeland War Memorial and Association of Croatian War Veterans of Split 1991 to 1996.
