The Ministry of Social Development, Youth and Sports is a governmental body of Gandaki Province is responsible for promoting issues related to education, women, children, senior citizens, disability, social security, language, culture, archaeology, labor and employment. The ministry is currently focusing on these issues as it is necessary to create provincial level law and policy standards for various subjects within the scope of this ministry. Also, the ministry is creating and implementing various programs within its subject area.


The main objective of this ministry is to develop the overall social sector by preparing healthy, educated, capable, enterprising citizens and contributing to the development of the province through the creation of laws, policies, rules, standards and programs related to various subjects related to the ministry, including education, health, sports, and socialism to contribute to the construction of a prosperous province.

Background

According to the Constitution of Nepal issued in the 2015, the basic structure of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal is arranged in a three-tier government structure. Gandaki province is one of the seven provinces in Nepal.

After Nepal was transformed into a federal structure and the system of union, state and local government was completed in the year 2017, the three-level elections were completed and the provincial government was formed February 2018. The Ministry of Social Development was established on same year.
