The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning is the governmental body of Karnali Province with the responsible for analyzing the province's economy, formulating and regulating economic policies, allocating resources, projecting investments, managing finances, and overseeing provincial revenue, economic stability, price stability, appropriation acts, budgets, public expenditure, and the operations of financial institutions.[3]
Introduction to Ministry
[edit]According to the constitution of Nepal, the provinces have been established in the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, as provided for in the three-tier government structure. Karnali Province is one of the seven provinces in Nepal. There are 10 districts Western Rukum, Salyan, Dolpa, Humla, Jumla, Kalikot, Mugu, Surkhet, Dailekh and Jajarkot. There are 25 municipalities and 54 rural municipalities in the province.[4]
After Nepal was transformed into a federal structure and the system of union, state and local government was completed in the year 2017, the three-level elections were completed and the provincial government was formed February 2018. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning is one of the seven ministries established and operating in this Karnali Province.[5][6]
