Life and career

[edit]

Miguel Ângelo was born in Rio de Janeiro and currently lives in São Paulo. At the age of 12, he left the periphery to live as a protagonist. He revealed that this transition was a significant challenge, as he had to adapt to a new reality far from his community of origin. Despite the difficulties, Miguel highlighted that the unwavering support of his family was crucial to his career. He mentioned that his mother always believed in his talent and made every effort to provide him with all possible opportunities. This change not only boosted his career but also brought significant personal growth.[4]

His career began in 2014 when he participated in the series O Caçador, directed by José Alvarenga Jr. and Heitor Dhalia, available on HBO Max. In 2018, Miguel Ângelo made an appearance in the short film O Nosso Legado, screened by the United Nations (UN) in New York. He also acted in the 2022 Netflix film Barba, Cabelo e Bigode, directed by Rodrigo França and Leticia Prisco. He will also appear in the upcoming Netflix series Candelária, directed by Luis Lomenha and Marcia Faria. In theater, he has performed in the children's play O Mágico de OZ and in the play O Amor Como Revolução, an adaptation of the book of the same name by Pastor Henrique Vieira, directed by Rodrigo França and co-produced by Lázaro Ramos.

Throughout his career, Miguel has participated in other short films and music videos, including Mais Jovem, Mais Bela, Mais Linda by Thiago Martins, and Eu Precisava Voltar com a Folhinha and Dai a Cesar o que é de Cesar, both by César MC. He was also featured in Proteja os Seus Sonhos, an album by Conceição Evaristo, a collaborative project between the black culture platform AUR, producer Theo Zagrae, MangoLab Musical Laboratory, and Som Livre.

Miguel considers the opportunity and experience at SBT to be wonderful. He recalls receiving the news of passing the audition on the day of São Cosme e Damião and celebrating it with his family.

This year has been one of recognition for the young actor's talent. He won the Prêmio Jovem Brasileiro in the category of Young Talent of the Future and the 1st Prêmio ArteBlitz de Novela in the popular vote as Best Revelation Actor, being the only child nominated. He was also a finalist in the category of Best Child Actor or Teen Role in the Prêmio Noticias da TV and is nominated for the Prêmio Área Vip- Melhores da Mídia 2023 as "Best Young Talent of 2023".

Miguel is this week's cover of Correio B+, ending the year of the Caderno with an exclusive interview discussing his career, his first lead role, and his representation in the roles he has already conquered and continues to conquer every day.[5]
