Meena Sankaran is an American entrepreneur and CEO of KETOS Inc., a technology company that focuses on water intelligence and management advancements.[1][2]

Sankaran has been recognized by Forbes as one of eight Awe-Inspiring Women Founders.[3]

Early Life and Education[edit]

Meena Sankaran was born and raised in Mumbai, India.[3] She received a BE in Electronics Engineering in India at the University of Mumbai, and, in 2002, came to the United States to pursue an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.[2][4][5][1]

Career[edit]

After completing her education, Meena Sankaran began her career in engineering and business roles at companies including Cumulus Networks, Big Switch Networks, Cisco, and Countrywide Financial (now Bank of America).

In 2015, Sankaran co-founded KETOS Inc. to improve water management through advanced data analytics and sensor technologies. Under her leadership, Ketos won several awards for its innovation including the Water Data Prize (2021), Tracxn Top Smart Cities Startups (2020, 2021, 2023), Global Water Awards’ Breakthrough Technology of the Year (2020), and AgTech Breakthrough Awards’ Water Innovation of the Year (2023).[6][7][8][9]

Sankaran is also a founder of KloudXP, a company that provides consulting and engineering services, W.IN.S (Women INner Strength), a women's empowerment group.[10][11] And PRERNA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting refugees in achieving self-sufficiency and stability in California, New York, Ohio, and Arizona.[3]
