Matilda Firth (born 1st December 2014) is a British actress. She is best known for her roles in Subservience, Mr Bates vs. The Post Office and Hullraisers.[1]. She also stars as the lead child in Blumhouse's 'Wolf Man', releasing January 17th 2025[2].
Early life
[edit]Matilda was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire.[3] She is the middle of three siblings, all of whom are actors[4].
Career
[edit]Firth began acting from a young age, landing her first professional role at the age of 5 as a minor character in Amazon Studios' "The Feed". She spent the next couple of years making brief appearances in programs such as The English Game and The Irregulars.
Matilda made a big impression in 2021, where she tugged at heartstrings in the McDonald's Christmas Advert that year[5].
Her next role was as 'Young Mia' in Peacock's 'Vampire Academy', based on the hit book series of the same name by Richelle Mead[6].
Matilda's debut feature film appearance was in Disney's Disenchanted [7], where she appeared as a featured character who filmed alongside Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams. Since then, She has worked consistently in film and television, proving herself to be a versatile and dedicated actress.
Matilda's TV credits include lead roles in series' such as the BBC's 'Time', 'Coma' for Channel 5 and Mr Bates vs The Post Office, the hit drama for ITV.
In what is perhaps Matilda's most notable TV role, she portrayed the character of Grace in All4's Hullraisers[8].
Her Television career is set to reach new heights in 2025, when she begins filming an as yet undisclosed TV series based on a bestselling novel. She will also appear in 9 Perfect Strangers on Hulu in 2026[9]
Matilda's film credits include roles in 2022's Christmas Carole[10] for Sky Movies, Starve Acre alongside Matt Smith and Subservience (2024).
In 2024, Matilda finished filming for a lead character in Blumhouse's Wolf Man. Jason Blum and Ryan Gosling are attached as executive producers, and the film is directed by Leigh Whannell. Matilda plays Ginger, the daughter in the family around which the film's plot takes place.
