Martinpur, often referred to as Martin Village, is a historical village established in 1898 in Punjab, Pakistan. It is notable for being predominantly inhabited by a Christian community and was established by Dr. Samuel Martin[1], an American Presbyterian missionary in the 19th century.

History

Martinpur was founded when Samuel Martin arrived in the Indian subcontinent as a missionary.​ His work primarily focused on promoting Christianity and education among the local population. He secured this land and selected 72 families from different parts of the province of Punjab to come and live in the new area. Martinpur is primarily populated by Christians, with a significant majority belonging to the Punjabi Christian community.

Landmarks

The village is home to various historical landmarks, including the Martin Memorial Church, Established in 1925, the church is central to community gatherings and religious ceremonies. Additionally, the Christian Boys High School [2]is an important educational institution, contributing to the education of many children in the area.
