Marcin Ryczek (born 18 sierpnia 1982 in Lublin) – polish photographer living in Cracow[1].

Artistic Work

Marcin Ryczek specializes primarily in minimalist and symbolic photography. His photograph A Man Feeding Swans in the Snow[2]has gained worldwide recognition and has become one of the most recognizable images of recent years. In his work, he employs geometry and symbols[3].. The main principle guiding his photography is the idea of minimum form, maximum content[1]. Marcin Ryczek's photographs have been exhibited in countries such as Japan, the USA, Germany, China, the Netherlands, Romania, India, England, Austria, Denmark, Italy, Serbia, and France[3].. They have been published in magazines, newspapers, and online platforms in many countries worldwide, including: The Guardian[4], Der Spiegel[5], Jedi’ot Acharonot, La Repubblica, Politiken, Athens Voice, National Gegraphic. His works have appeared on the covers of books by renowned Polish journalists, including Wojciech Jagielski and Piotr Kłodkowski.

One of the most recognizable photographs by the artist, A Man Feeding Swans in the Snow[6], has won numerous awards in significant international competitions. It has also been included in the prestigious collection of the Bibliothèque nationale de France and the holdings of the Silesian Museum[1][3]. One of the most influential American platforms, The Huffington Post, ranked the photo among the top 5 photographs in the world in 2013.[1][7][8] In 2017, Marcin Ryczek's photograph was featured on the cover of the book 100 Great Street Photographs by David Gibson.
