María Canosa Blanco (born 20 August 1978), is a Galician civil engineer. She is known for her participation as a judge in several game shows on Galician Television and as a writer of children's and young adult literature.[1]
As a writer she received numerous awards, including the 2017 Merlín Prize for children's literature for her work Muriel .[2][3]
Life
[edit]She moved from her hometown to La Coruña to carry out her studies at the University of La Coruña , where she obtained a degree in civil engineering.
She worked as an engineer and was project manager at the Centro de Coñecemento da Costa da Morte (Knowledge Centre of the Coast of Death ).
From the beginning of her professional career, she combined her work as an engineer with that of a writer, as well as that of a scriptwriter for various TVG programmes. Some of her works were adapted for the theatre. Maria Canosa and Jorge Mira are the experts of the TVG contest Coma un allo
She collaborates as a columnist for La Voz de Galicia.[4] and was a regular on several radio programs on Radio Galega and Radio Voz.[5] She held the position of "expert" in letters in the contest Cifras e letras on TVG from September 2011, 3 until early 2013 when the contest stopped airing. Cifras e letras was replaced by the contest Verbas van , in which she also held the position of expert. To this day she maintains this activity in the program Coma un allo .
