  • Comment: Two questions:
    1. Is Manchester, Calgary, a legally recognized place? Does it have some sort of charter?
    2. What is the relationship between Manchester and Alyth/Bonnybrook/Manchester? Robert McClenon (talk) 00:27, 10 November 2024 (UTC)

1 - Yes, Manchester is a legally recognized place. It is officially recognized as a community under the City of Calgary. Sources 1, 2, 4, 8, and 9 all show it as an official community. The Calgary Police source also shows it as official. The full list of officially recognized Calgary neighbourhoods can be seen here: https://www.calgary.ca/communities/profiles.html

2 - As far as I am aware, Manchester was not officially ever apart of Alyth/Bonnybrook/Manchester. As for why Manchester is included in the name of that, around 2006-ish the community of Manchester Industrial (which is completely separate from Manchester) was split off from Alyth/Bonnybrook. Manchester is the residential neighbourhood, meanwhile Manchester Industrial is a completely separate industrial community lying directly to the east of Manchester.
