Early Life and Education

M. S. Narasimha Murthy hails from Malur in Kolar District, Karnataka. He holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Kannada and a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism, in which he secured the first rank.

Career

Murthy began his professional career at the State Bank of Mysore, where he served in various capacities until voluntarily retiring as a manager from the Malur branch on 31 March 2001. Since then, he has dedicated himself entirely to Kannada literature.

Literary Contributions

M. S. Narasimha Murthy has published 60 works to date, including numerous humorous essays and collections that have resonated with readers across generations. His magnum opus, Samagrahasya, published in 1978, is a landmark in Kannada humour, comprising over 1,000 pages of wit and satire.
