Lyric Jones was raised in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2006, Lyric moved to Georgia to study Broadcast News at The University of Georgia. There, she became the lead drummer for UGA’s Big Band, which opened doors for her to perform with notable artists such as Jennifer Holliday and the late Dave Brubeck.
