The Luzerne County Arts & Entertainment Hall of Fame (LCAEHOF) is an organization which aims to honor artists and entertainers who are from, lived in, or had a cultural influence on Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. The Hall of Fame was founded in 2022 by newspaper reporter Bill O'Boyle and musician Joe Nardone Sr.
The Hall of Fame is separated into two distinct categories. Those categories include the arts, which honors those in film, television, theater, sculpture, painting, and associated fields; and entertainment, which predominantly honors those in the music and recording industries. Each inductee is selected by sub-committees, which are made up of artists, media figures, and business leaders living and working in Luzerne County.[1]
The number of inducted artists per year has fluctuated, a trend that is expected to continue. For example, the inaugural class (inducted in 2023), was made up of 18 artists and entertainers.[2] The Class of 2024, by contrast, is made up of 16 artists and entertainers.[3]
The Hall of Fame hosts an induction ceremony each fall, with the first ceremony taking place at Mohegan Pennsylvania in Plains Township on October 14, 2023. The event features live speeches and performances by the inductees and/or their descendants.[4]
