Lou Denim (born 1975) is a French photographer specialising in commercial beauty[1][2] and celebrities portraits.[3][4] Her career was primarily based in London, UK, before relocating to the French West Indies, where she focuses on corporate photography and commercial advertising.

She has worked with a variety of celebrities, from film stars such as Liv Tyler and Sean Bean to musicians like Robbie Williams and Rita Ora. She has photographed comedians (Alan Carr, Keith Lemon), TV presenters (Nick Grimshaw, Holly Willoughby), and sport stars such as Rio Ferdinan and Valtteri Bottas.

She appeared on the ITV series Mummy Diaries in 2018 (season 4 episode 5).[5] Her pictures were featured in Channel 4's program Supersize VS Superskinny in 2012, and since 2022 she has been shooting the publicity visuals for the BBC's Death In Paradise[6]series.

Her major exhibition was at the iconic Holborn studio 40th anniversary, London, UK, in June 2022.

Early life

Born in Nîmes, she grew up in Spain and lived on various French islands such as Corsica and Guadeloupe (FWI). In 1993, she studied at the University Paul Valéry in Montpellier where she graduated with a DEUG ISAV (Image Spectacle Audiovisuel).

In 1996, she moved to London and graduated with Cambridge University's First Certificate. She followed up with a BTEC in Photostudies and studio techniques from the London College of Printing.

Career

She started trading as a professional photographer in 1999, publishing for the next 18 years for a variety of UK editorials such as theNotebook, Cosmopolitan magazine, FHM, Men's Fitness, Top Santé, Heat, Radio Times to name a few. She also dabbled in below-the-line advertising for H&M, Cadbury, Rimmel, Carvela . Today she's back in the French West Indies, thriving in advertising shooting for Lynx Optique, Kiabi and KFC, while still contributing to a wide range of editorials such as Karumag by EWAG and Joho Magazine as well as inflight magazines like Winair[7] and ON AIR magazine.[8]
