Lola Flanery (born May 26, 2005) is an Canadian actress. She is best known for her roles as Madi Griffin on ''The 100 (TV series)'' (2018–2020) and Seelie Queen in ''Shadowhunters'' (2017–2019).
Early Life
[edit]Lola Flanery was born on May 26, 2005, in Los Angeles, California, to actor Sean Patrick Flanery and model Sacha Grierson.[1] She grew up in Toronto, Canada, since she was 3, where her mother runs a bakery. Flanery's early exposure to the entertainment industry influenced her decision to pursue acting.
Career
[edit]Before starting in various role on TV, Flanery was a model for compaigns like Gap, Roots & Target. She then began her acting career in 2015, debuting in the television film Last Chance for Christmas. In 2017, she appeared in the romantic comedy film Home Again, playing Isabel, one of the daughters of Reese Witherspoon’s character.[2]
Later in 2017, she joined the cast of the supernatural drama series Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments as Seelie Queen.[3] In 2018, Flanery gained wider recognition after being cast as Madi Griffin, the adopted daughter of Clarke Griffin (played by Eliza Taylor), in the post-apocalyptic series The 100. Her portrayal of Madi quickly became a fan favorite, and she remained on the show until its conclusion in 2020.
Flanery then decided to step back a little bit from the cinema industry by focusing on her studies in university. However she is still active on new projects coming up in 2024.
Personal Life
[edit]Flanery lives in Toronto with her mother, with whom she is really close to. She has expressed an interest in pursuing both acting and directing in the future.[4] Besides from being an actress, she is also a student in the University of Toronto.
She speaks fluently English and French because of school.
