Cathedral of Bogotá	La Candelaria	La Candelaria	1807–1823	Cathedral	Previous cathedral buildings built on the same spot in 1538, 1553 and 1572. The 1785 earthquake destroyed the third building and the construction of the current one began in 1807. Designed by architect Fr. Domingo de Petrés.^[1] It houses the Archives of the Cathedral, which are part of UNESCO's Memory of the World Register.
