This is a list of Ontario ministries, the collective body of ministers of the Crown that advises the Canadian monarch—presently King Charles III—on how to exercise their provincial Crown prerogatives. Since Canadian Confederation, July 1, 1867, there have been 26 Ontario ministries.
In Ontario, a ministry is formed when a new Premier is appointed, and dissolved when that individual leaves office. This is where you put exceptions if there are any.
With a duration of 23 years, 270 days, the 3rd Ministry, under the leadership of Sir Oliver Mowat, was the lengthiest; the 91-day-long 13th Ministry, under the leadership of Harry Nixon, was the briefest, although Nixon had the longest term of any Ontario MPP, at 42 years and 2 days
