Although Libero Group's official incorporation occurred in 2011[6], the founders have been actively working in the maritime sector since the 1980s. Over time, the company expanded its portfolio to include statutory services, management system certifications, and e-learning. Libero Group operates through three main divisions.
Services
[edit]Libero Group provides services to ensure safety at sea, prevention of human injury or loss of life, and avoidance of damage to the environment. The company operates through divisions such as Libero Hellenic Register, which offers classification services[7] for ships and yachts, statutory surveys for flag administrations like the Maritime Administrations of Barbados[8], Bahamas[9] and Antigua and Barbuda[10] and certifications for compliance with international conventions such as MARPOL and SOLAS.
Through LiberoAssurance, the company delivers accredited by ESYD[11], International Accreditation Service (IAS)[2], The International Code of Conduct Association – ICoCA[12] & The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI)[13] ISO certifications and private schemes certifications, including ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, ISO 18788 for private security companies and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety.
The LiberoServices division focuses on technical studies, project management, and advisory services for public tendering. This division has participated in globally financed initiatives, including EU-funded projects and United Nations programs. Libero Group also offers training programs through LiberoAssurance[14], with options for both in-person sessions and e-learning platforms. The company also conducts marine surveys, condition evaluations, and CE certifications for small crafts. It also provides seafarer certification and issues seaman’s books for technical staff. For ports and port facilities, the company advises on infrastructure development, equipment selection, security studies, and master planning to ensure compliance with international standards.
