Larry Cermak (born Vavřinec Čermák; February 15, 1994) is an executive, analyst, and cryptocurrency expert currently serving as the CEO of The Block,[1] a leading digital assets research and news platform that helps Wall Street clients understand the cryptocurrency market. Prior to becoming CEO in 2023, he served as the company's Director of Research, where he established the company's institutional research division.

Early life and career

Cermak was born and raised in Prague. At the age of sixteen, standing at 6'11",[2] he moved to the United States. From 2010, he attended Church Farm School, a private Christian boarding high school in Pennsylvania, where he also played basketball.[3][4][5] In 2013, he enrolled at Skidmore College[6] in New York, earning a degree in Economics and Finance.

He initially worked for Diar, a research firm focused on cryptocurrency. In 2018, he joined The Block as Head of Research. He became CEO in 2023 and has led The Block since.

In February 2022, Czech Forbes magazine included him in the 30 under 30 list . Cermak has two children. Cermak has more than 200 thousand followers on X.
