Draft:Lana Del Rey on Saturday Night Live

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On January 14, 2012, Lana Del Rey performed two songs from her album Born to Die on Saturday Night Live. She received a negative response from various critics and the general public, who deemed the performance uneven and vocally shaky.[1][2] She had earlier defended her spot on the program, saying: "I'm a good musician ... I have been singing for a long time, and I think that [SNL creator] Lorne Michaels knows that ... it's not a fluke decision."[1]

In the following show, her performance was parodied by Kirsten Wiig.[3][4]

In a 2019 interview between Del Rey and Elton John, John said that "I've watched it, and it wasn't that bad!"[7]
