Lake William Symington is a lake in Kitsap County, Washington on the Kitsap Peninsula. It is on the base of Gold Mountain, situated in between Hite Center and Crosby, Washington. It has a small unnamed island east of the Coho Run. It is also home to the William Symington Dam, a small dam on the northeastern shore of the lake.
The Island
[edit]The island is a very small island in the south-central part of Lake William Symington. It is west of a peninsula that jets out into the center of the lake towards Fort William Symington, on a head surrounded by Otter Run & Coho Run. The island is only a few feet large, and is uninhabited. In 2009, two 8-year old girls attempted to walk to the island, and fell through the ice attempting to get back to shore. The island is entirely forested, with only its shores walkable.
