La Liga academy HPC is a football club and academy based in Al Hebiah, United Arab Emirates. It has operations in Dubai Sports City, Jumeirah and Al Maryah, Abu Dhabi.[1]

History

[edit]

The club started as an academy to develop local talent in the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East, launching it's first operations in Dubai Sports City, the club has been a hotspot for youth talents for three years. In 2020, in a press conference with the DSC Secretary General Saeed Hareb, President of Dubai Sports City, Khaled Al Zarooni and former Real Madrid and Málaga defender, Fernando Sanz, the academy launched a football club to compete in the UAE Second Division League.[2][3] HPC would have a positive start in their first season, finishing 3rd out of 8 teams in their group, barely missing out on the promotion semi finals by three points in the 2020–21 season. In 2021–22 season, HPC would again finish three points short of promotion but placed 4th in the league.
