LIPS Corporation (Chinese: 立普思; pinyin: Lì Pǔ Sī) is a manufacturer of 3D depth cameras, and system integrator of machine vision systems and software. LIPS Corporation is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan (ROC).
LIPS Corporation provides solutions that equip machines and devices with depth perception capabilities. LIPS builds and customizes 3D depth cameras with depth and tracking technologies, including Stereoscopy, Time of Flight (ToF) and Structured Light.[2][3] LIPS creates 3D AI middleware and systems as well.[3]
History
[edit]LIPS Corporation was founded in Taipei, Taiwan, in 2013 by a group of MIT CSAIL scholars. Luke Liu, one of the founders and the current CEO, was assigned to MIT for speech recognition and signal processing during his tenure at Foxconn between 2008 and 2010.[4][5]
In 2021, IdealWorks, a BMW spin-off, chose the LIPSedge AE400 stereo camera, which is integrated with NVIDIA Isaac, for their Smart Transportation Robot. This design for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) allows the robots to perceive their surroundings and identify obstacles.[6]

Awards and recognition
[edit]In 2018, LIPS Corporation received of the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards in both the Industrial and Research and Development categories.[15][16][17]
In 2019, the LIPSedge DL 3D Time of Flight (ToF) camera received the Taiwan Excellence Award.[18][19]
In 2020, the LIPSFace AC770 3D AI facial recognition terminal received the iF Design Award.[12][13][10] In that year, the LIPS Vision Guided Robot 3D Footwear Automation Solution received the annual Innovators Awards by Vision Systems Design.[11]
Between 2022 and 2024, LIPS Corporation received the Award of Robotic System Integration from the Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robotics Association (TAIROA) consecutively for three years.[20][21][22]
In 2024, LIPSedge S205p 3D camera received the Embedded World's Embedded Award, in the Embedded Vision category.[23][24]
