Dr. Kumar, IAS is Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate of Mandya District in Karnataka, India.[1]

Prior to taking charge as Deputy Commissioner of Mandya, he was serving as CEO, Zilla Panchayat for Dakshina Kannada and for Udupi.[2]

Administrative developments

He issued a stern warning to five sugar factories for transgressing their jurisdiction in search of business.[3] Regarding the industrial affluent-rich polluted water mixed with the Cauvery River, turning the water black and emitting a bad odor, several complaints were received for which he asked the Mysuru district administration to stop the flow.[4]

With imminent drought, microfinance institutions were asked not to harass or bring pressure on farmers and public in the name of recovering loan dues.[5]

Innovations

He opened public libraries called " Pustaka Goodus" at multiple bus stops through his own money to encourage reading while waiting.[6]

Through effective governance, he prevented 46 child marriages in Mandya in 2024.[7]
