Klaus Bytzek
Klaus Bytzek (b. 1937, Germany) is a Canadian entrepreneur, former race car driver, published
author and patron of the arts. His accomplishments span automotive engineering, motorsport, horse
racing, fine arts, literature, and philanthropy.
Early Life and Immigration
[edit]Born in Germany, Bytzek immigrated to Canada in 1955 at the age of 18. Motivated by a drive for
independence and innovation, he pursued entrepreneurial endeavors, securing patents in automotive
engineering[1].
Motorsport Career
[edit]Bytzek began racing sports cars in the 1960s alongside his brother, Harry Bytzek, a well-known
classic car collector and driver. After a hiatus, Klaus returned to competitive racing in the 1990s,
winning four Canadian national championships.
In 2000 and 2001, he participated in the IMSA 24 Hours of Daytona, driving a Porsche GT1[2].
Equestrian Ventures
[edit]Bytzek, along with his first wife, Patricia McGill, established Flying Children Farms, a standardbred
horse racing and training operation. The farm achieved notable successes, including victories with
Elvira Childer of the $175,000 New Jersey Classic for two-year-old filly’s and with Cher A Like,
(owned by brother Harry Bytzek), the latter named Canada’s two-year-old filly of the year. Bytzek’s

Yachting and Design
[edit]Bytzek developed a passion for yachting, leading to the acquisition and redesign of motor yachts to
