King Louie (hatched June 15th, 1995) is an albino[1] American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) currently housed in the "HerpAquarium" exhibit of the Louisville Zoo in Louisville, Kentucky[2]. The zoo acquired Louie in 2005[3], from the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park, and named him after the city's namesake, king Louie XVI of France.
