Life and career

[edit]

Kimeta Cevani was born on March 2, 1970, in Prizren and raised in the Serbian village of Banatsko Karađorđevo. She grew up in a strict household, with her father, Imer Cevani (who passed away in 2012), frequently abusing her. Kimeta was forbidden to sing, dance, or even join a Choir. Despite this, she secretly sang, danced, and wrote songs from a young age, starting at just 10 years old. At the age of 11, Kimeta was forced to work at the local bakery, "Furra Genton," as she wasn't allowed to attend school. Although she wanted to go to school, her father refused and she pleaded with him many times. Eventually, her father relented under one condition: Kimeta was forced to eat Rat poison. She immediately rushed to the Hospital and survived. Later, Kimeta officially enrolled in middle school at the age of 11. At 18, determined to pursue her music career, Kimeta ran away from her village and moved to Tyrol, Austria where she began performing in local pubs and cafes. After gaining experience, she joined the band "Dzidzi Midzi," where she became the Lead singer.

Personal life

[edit]

Kimeta had her first relationship with the Bosnian-singer Šekib Mujanović till 1999. Cevani was in a long-term relationship with Denis Mujadžić, with whom she was partnered until 2011. They had two children: a daughter, Innda Cevani Mujadžić, born on May, 21 2006 and a son, El Noor Cevani Mujadžić, born on October, 8 2010 both in Linz, Upper Austria. After her relationship with Denis, Kimeta was involved with Stefan Polster. They were together until they broke up in 2023. The couple later reconciled but eventually broke up again in 2024. Despite the ups and downs in her personal life, Kimeta has focused on her children and her family.
