Kazorn and the Unicorn is an upcoming animated adventure fantasy comedy film directed by Kevin Asbury and Troy Quane, and screenplay by Robert L. Baird and Lloyd Taylor.
Production

[edit]In June 2012, Deadline reported that Kelly Asbury was discussing with Sony Pictures Animation the creation of an animated fantasy film titled "Kazorn & The Unicorn." The film's plot centered around the journey of a young man and a unicorn on a quest to find a powerful weapon and affirm his valor to his beloved. Lloyd Taylor was tasked with writing the screenplay, while Sam Raimi, Josh Donen, and Russell Hollander were set to produce. Later that year, Troy Quane joined Kelly Asbury as a co-director. In November 2013, Sony Pictures Animation indicated that "Kazorn and the Unicorn" was still in development by updating their website with information about the film.
Cancellation

Revivial by Pixar Animation Studios
[edit]In August 2024, it was announced that Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures had picked up Kazorn and the Unicorn earlier in the year, and would be releasing on its theatrically service in 2025. Pixar Animation Studios was announced as the project's animation partner. After his death, son of Kelly Asbury, Kevin Asbury as director. Chris Meledandri and Namit Malhotra were set to produce.
Music
[edit]Asbury revealed that Christopher Lennertz had composed the score for the film, marking his second collaboration with Quane following The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol (2011).
Release
[edit]Kazorn and the Unicorn is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 21, 2025, taking the release of Snow White.
