Kathleen Hale (born 1986) is an American crime writer best known for her book Slender Man: Online Obsession, Mental Illness, and the Violent Crime of Two Midwestern Girls. She is also a contributor to Vanity Fair, where she covers crime involving social media.[1]
Early Life and Education
[edit]Kathleen Hale was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended Harvard University.
Career
[edit]Hale began as a YA novelist.[2] In 2022, she published Slender Man: Online Obsession, Mental Illness, and the Violent Crime of Two Midwestern Girls, which examined the infamous Slender Man stabbing. The book was praised for its meticulous research and immersive exploration of internet culture and mental illness.[3]
