Katharina Valeeva

Katharina Valeeva (born July 31, 1978, in Kislovodsk, Russia, as Nikiforova Ekaterina Vladimirovna) is a Russian painter who has resided in Germany since 2001. She is acclaimed for her mastery of traditional oil painting techniques on canvas. Valeeva's work often features nature-inspired motifs, rendered in a variety of styles ranging from realistic to symbolic and figurative. She is particularly recognized for her thematic series, such as "Montagskuchen[1]" ("Monday Cakes"), in which she painted a cake every Monday. Other notable series include "Nature Goddesses," "City Life," and "Seascapes."[2]

Biography and Artistic Career

Valeeva began her artistic training at the State Art School for Children in Ussurijsk, Russia, from 1989 to 1993. She then passed the entrance examination for the State Art College in Stavropol, Russia, in 1994 and pursued her studies there until 1999. She completed her diploma thesis on "Spring" and graduated with honors, earning a qualification as a painter and art educator.[3]

In 2000, Valeeva held an exhibition at an art salon in Stavropol, Russia. The following year, she relocated to Germany. From 2002 to 2004, she served as a drawing course instructor at the Family Center in Zwickau, Saxony, and held an exhibition at a private gallery in Dresden.

Between 2006 and 2009, Valeeva operated her own studio in Karlsruhe, Grünwettersbach. From 2010 to 2020, she worked as an art teacher at KreativHaus e.V., a creative school. In 2019, she focused on her career as a freelance artist, working from her studio in Karlsruhe, Durlach. During this period, she participated in exhibitions in Karlsruhe, Ettlingen, and Neustadt an der Weinstraße.

In 2019, Valeeva joined the artist group "Pro Arte Imaginis[4]."
