Kara Petar Trešnjevičanin and was also known as simply Petar Kara (Serbian Cyrillic: Кара Петар Трешњевичанин; c. 1768-1804) was a Serbian revolutionary at the beginning of the 19th century. He was under the direct command of Karađorđe.
In early February 1804, Karađorđe went from Darosava and by way of Bukovik to Vrbica, meanwhile, Petar Kara, from Trešnjevka, at the same time gathered 400 Serb volunteers at Šatornja guarding the road near Jasenica in order to prevent the Turks from Rudnik to surprise and penetrate the hamlets, villages and towns along the way and plunder the population. Karađorđe told Petar Kara to let only 300 of his men behind to guard the roads and leave with the 100 soldiers for Topola. In the meantime, Karađorđe rose the people to arms while he and his companions torched the Turkish military hans (inns) in every town to the ground.[1]
