Controversy[edit]In December 2023, former KCKPSPD officer **Marialexa Sanoja** resigned from her position at **Wyandotte High School**, citing concerns over gun violence, drug use, fights, and insufficient support from school administrators. Sanoja claimed that the school district had not adequately addressed these issues and suggested that incidents involving guns, drugs, and violence were often concealed from parents and the public. In an interview with KMBC 9 Investigates, she expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of transparency, noting that “parents are not aware” of these issues, which were often kept quiet by the administration. The incident prompted discussions about the adequacy of safety measures in schools within the district. See Also[edit]
