- Comment: Hi RegThro97, I believe you translated this article from the corresponding version on the Chinese Wikipedia , which is also largely unsourced. Please remember that Wikipedia articles should include inline citations for their content. With the exception of one source, all the references are primary sources published by Link REIT or other affiliated companies, and the only article from HK01 focuses on the Aeon store located there, rather than the mall itself. I conducted a quick Google search and found several much better sources which provided significant coverage about the mall, including articles from TOPick[1], Sing Tao Daily[2], Yahoo! News[3], and U Lifestyle[4]. You might consider adding these to the article and finding some news articles to support the currently unsourced claims. — Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 07:23, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

Location
[edit]Kai Tin Shopping Centre is located in Kwun Tong District of Hong Kong, close to Lam Tin Station. The mall is divided into two wings, which is located at 50 Kai Tin Road, providing one-stop shopping and leisure options for residents nearby such as Ping Ting Estate and Laguna City, as well as Sceneway Garden.
Roads are in all directions connected by bus stations, and Lam Tin station lies southwest of the shopping centre. There are residential buildings, schools and community centres located near the mall, providing living facilities for the local residents.
Features
[edit]The shopping centre is approximately 185,000 square feet (17200 square metres) in size.[2]
Beneath the shopping mall is a wet market, designed with red brick walls, black and white checkered floors, decorated with red phone booths, oil lamps, and British style street signs.[3]
The Lam Tin post office is located inside the shopping mall.[4]
Environmentally friendly projects and facilities have been launched in the Kai Tin shopping mall.[5]
There is an open space in Kai Tin shopping mall called Ktopia Garden, permitting residents to relax and engage in photography.[6]
History
[edit]Established in 1995, the Kai Tin Shopping Centre was formerly known as Blocks 10 to 15 of Lam Tin Estate.
It is separated into two major wings: including the original older wing and the new mall extension, referred to as the new wing. The former was completed and opened to the public in 1998 with 5 floors.[5]
The new wing was completed in 2003,[7] comprising of 5 floors and over 10000 square meters. One of the significant stores was AEON, formerly JUSCO supermarket, which covered approximately 31000 square feet and was one of the largest supermarkets in Hong Kong. Eventually, AEON supermarket closed its doors in 2022.[8] Customers and residents of Lam Tin have expressed disappointment over the supermarket's closure. Today, several stores now stand where AEON was once located, including Milkcafe, Jumpin Gym and King Prawn Restaurant.[9]
In 2018, renovation works were carried out by Link Real Estate Investment Trust.
