Jussi Seppo Juhani Teeriaho[1] (born 24 June 1967) is a Finnish businessperson and digital activist, known for his contributions to mobile technology and banking. He is the chairman and founder of MobiBank, a mobile banking software company based in Finland, and holds a majority stake in the company.[2]

Career Background

[edit]

Before founding MobiBank, Teeriaho developed the BackUp system for Nokia phones, a solution that safeguarded user data on mobile devices. His invention gained significant attention during Nokia's peak as a leading mobile phone manufacturer. Teeriaho also played a role in the development of iSMS technology and served on the board of BMC Software[3].

Teeriaho's innovation in mobile technology began with the creation of Nokia's BackUp system, which protected digital data on mobile devices. This innovation was driven by the recognition of the vulnerability of data stored on mobile phones. The BackUp system allowed users to secure their contacts, messages, photos, and other files, ensuring the safety of their digital memories.

Investing in iSMS with the Father of SMS Matti Makkonen

[edit]

Teeriaho was also involved in the advancement of iSMS technology, collaborating with Matti Makkonen[4], a pioneer in SMS technology. Together, they worked on enhancing the efficiency and speed of mobile communication, including innovations that significantly impacted the airline industry and mobile downloads. One notable achievement was the rapid download of the popular game Angry Birds in Finland.[5]
