Josh Malcolm Clark is American podcast producer and host. He is the founding host of the podcast Stuff You Should Know.[1] From its launch in 2008 through 2023, the show consistently appeared in the Top 10 rankings on Apple Podcasts[2][3][4]. Clark has won numerous podcast industry awards for his role on Stuff You Should Know, including the 2017 Webby Award Honor for Best Host.[5]
Education and Early Career
[edit]As a teenager, Clark moved with his family from Toledo, Ohio to Georgia.[1] He attended the University of Georgia,[6] where he studied anthropology and history.[7] Clark left school before graduation,[8] and pursued a career in journalism.[7] He was the founding editor of an alternative newspaper, called The Washboard Weekly, in Johnson City, Tennessee.[1]
Career
[edit]In 2007, Clark joined the staff of HowStuffWorks,[9] as a blogger for the website.[2] In 2008, he created the first episode of a podcast for the company. He came up with the podcast name, Stuff You Should Know.[1] The first podcast episode launched in April 2008, with Clark as the host.[1]
