After Wells turned 18, he taught himself how to sing and started learning how to write songs.

Wells was homeschooled for the majority of his life and believes it helped him form his own identity away form peer pressure and negative influences, "I think my mother made the right move, taking me out of school. I was very sensitive and would pickup others' behaviors too easily" stated Wells during a livestream on his Twitch channel 'jonathanwellsgaming'. In being homeschooled, Wells had the opportunity to spend the majority of his time creating original music tracks on the home PC."
