Joel Novoa Schneider is a film and television director and producer in both the U.S. and international markets. He is the son of director Joseph Novoa and Elia K Schneider. His work includes directing key episodes of COBRA KAI, notably the premiere and finale of Seasons 5 and 6, as well as Netflix series OBLITERATED. He has also directed episodes of ARROW for Warner Brothers, CBS's 2024 hit TRACKER, and WALKER for CBS.
On the international stage, Joel directed all 10 episodes of CÓDIGO IMPLACABLE for Sony, which became the top streaming show in Mexico in March 2022. He also played a pivotal role, along with wife Marilu G Carranza, as Executive Producer in adapting the comic book EL GATO at MGM, starring Diego Boneta. Joel Novoa and Marilu G Carranza also set up FRIDA KAHLO project for development.
In the film industry, Joel made a significant impact with GOD'S SLAVE, an international thriller that premiered in 2013, winning 18 international awards.
His other notable films include I.D.2: Shadwell Army, which premiered in UK theaters, and Day of Reckoning for Universal, which became a top-grossing film on Syfy Channel in 2016. His latest film, THE NANNY, starring Jamie Murray, is now available on Amazon Prime.
