Joel Masters (born 15 September 2007) is British sprinter.[1]
Early life
[edit]From Gloucestershire, he attended Chipping Campden School.[2] A keen footballer, he has trials in his youth as a winger for Coventry City before focusing on athletics.[3] In 2023, he was the Warwickshire county, Gloucester and South West schools and Midlands champion over 100m and 200m.[4]
Career
[edit]He became British U17 champion in February 2024 in the 60 metres, running 6.73 seconds to break the championship record set previously by Mark Lewis-Francis.[3][5]
He was a silver medalist in the 100 metres at the 2024 European Athletics U18 Championships in Slovakia, running 10.51 seconds in the final.[6]
He was a silver medalist in the 4 x 100 metres relay at the 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru.[7][8]
