Per Georg Joakim Lundqvist, born February 11 1967 i Mora in Kopparbergs län[1], Sweden, is most well known for being the senior pastor of Word of Life Church in Uppsala 2013-2021.
Lundqvist grew up in the Church of Sweden, where is father was a priest with charismatic sympathies. When his parents started the Segerbaneret Church in Leksand in 1986, Lundqvist became the youth pastor.[2] In 1997, Lundqvist moved to Uppsala to become the youth pastor at Word of Life. He remained in this capacity until 2002, when he braught the norwegian student organization Ny generation to Sweden. In 2013, Lundqvist superseeded Ulf Ekman as senior pastor at Word of Life.
In 2020, Lundqvist took a leave of absence from the church in Uppsala and moved to the USA.[3] In 2021 he resigned as senior pastor of Word of Life in order to spend all his time as a travelling preacher who would also represent Word of Life in an international setting.[4] From 2024, Lundqvist is serving beside Max Lucado as interim pastor at Gateway Church.
Joakim Lundqvist is married to Maria Lundqvist (b. Lindgren, born 1964) since 1987.
