Joachim Steinhöfel is a German lawyer and conservative editor. He acts as a lawyer mainly for right wing populist and new-right editors and media outlets.

At the beginning of the 1990s he was manager of the major league football team TuS Hoisdorf. After the 1991/92 season he ended his work for the club and only ran his law firm in Hamburg.[1]
Work
[edit]Since 1989 Steinhöfel is working as laywer for German media law. He had a number of in germany known clients like:
- Hamed Abdel-Samad, German-Egyptian critics of pratice of Islam
- Henryk M. Broder, conservative publisher
- Birgit Kelle, abortion opponent activist
- Matthias Matussek, Publisher of neue Rechte
- Max Otte, former head of Werteunion
- Akif Pirinçci, author of anti-Semitic vulgar texts
- Julian Reichelt, right-wing populist editor and moderator
- Boris Reitschuster, editor of "alternative Media"
- Alice Weidel, AfD head
Julian Reichelt commented on X that the federal government is giving development aid to Afghanistan. He wrote polemically in August 2023 that Germany had paid 370 million euros in development aid to the Taliban in the last two years. The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) submitted an application for an interim injunction.
Steinhöfel filed a constitutional complaint on Reichelt's behalf with the Federal Constitutional Court, which withdrew the order. In principle, the state also has to withstand harsh and polemical criticism. The case was referred back to the Court of Appeal and must be reheard there.[2][3]
Steinhöfel worked for the AfD as an expert in press law and appeared at an event on the “dictatorship of opinion” of the AfD parliamentary group.[4]

[edit]Joachim Steinhöfel is editor in different conservative and right-wing populist media outlets as law expert, like Tichys Einblick [5] and "Achse des Guten"[6] (Henryk M Broder) and "Nius" (Julian Reichelt) and others.
Steinhöfel publications are promoted by new right-wing and neo-conservative media, such as Verlag Antaios.[7]
