Jayden Daniel Alvarez (born April 17, 2007) is an American actor and filmmaker. He is known for his roles as Jake Hudson in The Love We Choose (2024), James in Uplink (2025), Connor Trapp in Right Here, Right Now (2024), and Dylan in 4.0 (2023). He also appeared in the film The Colosseum (2022) and the short film The Job (2023). He co-directed, co-wrote, co-starred, and edited the 2024 short film The Love We Choose for which he shares multiple film festival awards[1] with his co-director, Reece Caddell.
Early life
[edit]Alvarez was born in Los Angeles, California. He is the youngest of two brothers. Alvarez attended Oaks Christian School from 2018-2024.
Career
[edit]Late 2010s: Career begins
[edit]In the late 2010s, Alvarez began attending acting classes at the Christiansen Acting Academy. Afterwards, he landed his first agent at the Amsel, Eisenstadt, Frazier & Hinojosa, Inc. talent agency. He then started acting in commercials, college student films, feature films, and did some voice-over work.
2018-2023
[edit]Since 2018, Alvarez has starred in multiple stage plays and musicals at his middle school and high school, Oaks Christian. He has also participated in technical theater at the same school, taking on the roles of assistant stage manager, rigging operator, props manager, and costume assistant.
2023-present: filmmaking
[edit]In November of 2023, Alvarez began writing the first script for The Love We Choose with his co-director, Reece Caddell. The final draft was completed in December, and they wrapped filming in early March of 2024 and finished post-production in April. The film first debuted at the Oaks Christian Annual Film Festival on May 11, 2024. Since then, it has won multiple film festival awards in California, New York, and Cannes, France.
During this time, he also directed a music video for a friend who also attended Oaks Christian.
Alvarez has continued writing and directing short films in the psychological thriller and drama genres.
