Draft:Jason Sherrick
Submission declined on 18 September 2024 by Cabrils (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

- Comment: Well done on creating the draft, and it may potentially meet the relevant requirements (including WP:GNG, WP:ANYBIO) but presently it is not clear that it does. As you may know, Wikipedia's basic requirement for entry is that the subject is notable. Essentially subjects are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. To properly create such a draft page, please see the articles ‘Your First Article’, ‘Referencing for Beginners’ and ‘Easier Referencing for Beginners’. Also, if you have any connection to the subject, including being paid, you have a conflict of interest that you must declare on your Talk page (to see instructions on how to do this please click the link). Please familiarise yourself with these pages before amending the draft. If you feel you can meet these requirements, then please make the necessary amendments before resubmitting the page. It would help our volunteer reviewers by identifying, on the draft's talk page, the WP:THREE best sources that establish notability of the subject. It would also be helpful if you could please identify with specificity, exactly which criteria you believe the page meets (eg "I think the page now meets WP:ANYBIO criteria #3, because XXXXX"). Once you have implemented these suggestions, you may also wish to leave a note for me on my talk page and I would be happy to reassess. Cabrils (talk) 06:15, 18 September 2024 (UTC)

Jason Taishan Sherrick (born August 24, 2006) is an American youth political activist. At 17, he served as a delegate from Connecticut to the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. He graduated from Wilton High School in 2024 and currently attends Bowdoin College where he plans to major in Government and Legal Studies.[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Sherrick was born on August 24, 2006.[2] He became interested in politics at a young age, reading The New York Times and Wall Street Journal at his mother's suggestion, and watching Meet the Press with his father on Sundays. Sherrick attended Wilton High School where he graduated in 2024.[3]
Political work
[edit]Sherrick first worked as an intern for the first State Senate race of Ceci Maher during the 2022 midterm elections. In 2023, Sherrick organized students at Wilton High School in support of democratic candidates for local offices. In 2024, Sherrick served as State Senator Ceci Maher's Outreach Director, organizing students once again.[1] Later in 2024, at age 17, Sherrick was selected to serve as a delegate from Connecticut to the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago where he casted his vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz.[4] In an election marred by questions over age, Sherrick was excited to support Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz saying, "We've already seen what a first Trump presidency looks like... [and] we're staring down the barrel of a second one, but we have two happy warriors that are ready to duke it out for us at the top of the ticket."[5]
