James Spencer is a British politician and former member of the Westminister City Council. Spencer was born in Colney Heath, Hertfordshire before moving to Jersey Farm.[1] In 2018, he was elected to the Westminster City Council for the Tachbrook Ward.[2] While in the Council, Spencer held the role of Cabinet Member for City Management and was involved in electrifying Westminster's waste management vehicles.[3] In 2022, Spencer lost his seat in the Council to the Labour Party, after his ward was redrawn into the Pimlico South Ward.[4][5]

In September 2023, Spencer was selected as the Conservative Party candidate for the 2024 general election for St Albans, replacing Clare De Silva, who stepped down for personal reasons. Spencer came second in the general election, earing 18.2% of the vote, a decrease from previous St Albans Conservative candidate and MP, Anne Main, of 21.1%.[6][7]
