Draft:James Knox (Queen Creek School Board)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

James Knox was elected to the Queen Creek School Board in the November 2022 midterm and took office in January 2023. [1] Knox was formerly a legislator in Montana before moving to Queen Creek, Arizona in 2019 [2] Knox describes himself as living a wild life as a teenager partying and using substances before settling down. [2]

Knox has been criticized by district staff during his tenure for alleged racist and offensive social media posts, which he says people do not have to read if they don't like them. [3] [4] [5] As some district staff have asked the board too censure Knox for what they consider inappropriate behavior, the board has responded that it is the responsibility of voters to determine whether or not to vote Knox out of office. [6] [7]

Knox is an outspoken opponent of critical race theory in schools. [8]

Knox has engaged in disputes with district staff and teachers in a manner that has been considered aggressive. [9] Knox reports he has been threatened by radical leftists, and this is his reason for homeschooling his children and not enrolling them in public schools while serving on the board. [10]
