James Donald Armstrong (born January 10, 1951) is a Canadian entrepreneur and philanthropist. Originally employed as a computer programer, he founded the software company JDA Software (now called Blue Yonder) in Calgary, Alberta in 1978.

Early Life

James (Jim or Jamie) Armstrong was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Canada on January 10, 1951. He moved to Elliot Lake, Ontario at the age of six, and spent the rest of his childhood there.
