Jailbreak is an action-adventure game created by badcc and asimo3089 and released on April 21, 2017. By August 2024, it had been played 7 billion times.[1][2]
Gameplay
[edit]Jailbreak's gameplay consists of players taking on the roles of convicts escaping jail and conducting crimes like as heists, as well as police and SWAT personnel attempting to stop them, which Barry Stevens of Entertainment Focus compared to the Grand Theft Auto series.[3] It accumulated over US$1 million in revenue during its first year of operation.[4]
Jailbreak was featured in Roblox's Ready Player One event, based around the release of the film.[5] Alex Balfanz, a co-creator of Jailbreak, covered his undergraduate education at Duke University using funds from the game.[6][1]
