The Iranic world (Farsi: جهان ایرانی, Urdu: ایرانی دنیا, Kurdish: چيهانا يران) also known as the Iranic nation (مولت الیرانی mawlat al-irani) comprises a large group of countries, mainly located in West Asia and South Asia. While majority of people in the Iranic world are Iranic by culture, genetics or linguistically there are also significant populations of other ethnic groups such as Turkics, Dardics as well as Western Indo-Aryans who are very close to Iranics genetically, culturally & linguistically. Farsi & Urdu are used as the lingua francas throughout the Iranic world.
Pakistan's eastern provinces is home to Western Indo-Aryan people who are very close to Iranic people culturally, religiously & genetically (because of the Indo-Iranian migrations & the Islamic conquests). Farsi also served as the lingua franca of that region but due to British rule it was displaced & replaced by the Arabic-influenced & Farsi-influenced variety of the Hindustani language called Urdu.
Iranic nations include Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Kurdistan & Tajikistan.
