Indian Centre for Child and Human Rights (ICCHR) is a national Child and Human Rights Organisation in India.

Research and Publications

ICCHR’s research efforts are not limited to child labor. The center is also involved in an extension research project on Tribal Rights, “Fading Rights and Deepening Interests: A contradiction between Tribal Rights and Cost of Development.” ICCHR also publishes a quarterly research project on various contemporary issues concerning child and human rights of national and international importance. The research projects cover a wide range of topics, including child trafficking, child sexual abuse, child marriage, and the impact of conflict on children’s rights. The reports provide insights into the current situation, recommendations, and detailed analysis of ground reports for concerned authorities and institutions to work on. ICCHR engages in various awareness campaigns to raise awareness about child and human rights. The center conducts webinars, seminars, and collaborations with various NGOs to create awareness among the public about the importance of protecting the rights of children and humans. ICCHR’s awareness campaigns and internship programs demonstrate the center’s commitment to creating awareness among the public and supporting students interested in the field of Child and Human Rights.

Projects

Project Rojgar Sathi: Work, Livelihood, Life

‘Project Rojgar Sathi: Work, Livelihood, Life’ (रोजगार साथी) is a national initiative launched by Indian Centre for Child and Human Rights (ICCHR) in association with WebX Hub Co.- IT and Consultancy Company to provide employment opportunities to unemployed youth across India. The project aims to address the growing problem of unemployment in the country by connecting job seekers with employers, creating a platform for skill development, and promoting entrepreneurship.

The project is launched in the National Capital Territory of Delhi in its initial stage, where it will be active on the ground level, starting from small villages to the smallest towns, and gradually expanding across the country by the end of June. Project Rojgar Sathi is a non-profit initiative, and it has been designed to help young people find jobs within their interests, qualification, and area of expertise. Project Rojgar Sathi is an ambitious initiative aimed at bringing significant social and economic changes in the lives of young people. The project’s vision is to ensure that every unemployed youth in the country has access to meaningful employment opportunities that align with their aspirations, skills, and interests. Through its various interventions, Project Rojgar Sathi aims to create a more inclusive and equitable society, where every young person has a fair chance to succeed and contribute to the country’s growth.

Project Vidya Shakti

Project Vidya Shakti (Empowering Education for Tribal Girls) is a 6-month fellowship program project aimed at reducing middle school dropout rates among tribal girls in Jharkhand, India. Indian Centre for Child and Human Rights (ICCHR) along with United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), and Millennium Campus Network (MCN), this project will be runned by the UN Millennium Fellows of National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi Campus. The project will address key barriers to education, such as poverty, cultural norms, and lack of role models, by providing financial support, changing cultural norms, providing role models, and offering academic and life skills support. The project will also include community outreach to engage with community members and promote the importance of education for girls.

Project Jal Mitra

Project Jal Mitra: Perceive, Protect & Preserve is a community driven initiative focused on preserving and protecting Kanke Dam, which is located in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. Kanke Dam is an important source of water for the city of Ranchi as it supplies potable water to nearly half the city’s population in the adjoining areas. Further, it is also an important water reservoir for irrigation and other agricultural purposes in the surrounding region. The dam also supports a diverse range of flora and fauna, including several species of fish, birds, and other wildlife. The campaign seeks to raise awareness about the ecological and social importance of the dam, and to mobilise local residents and stakeholders to take action to ensure its sustainable management.

Mukt Shiksha Project

Indian Centre for Child and Human Rights (ICCHR) along with Truth and Youth (TAY) have been working towards empowering and protecting the rights of children and human beings through various initiatives. In June 2021, we initiated a social project named Mukt Shiksha Project (MSP), which aimed to promote online mentorship of school students from classes IX to XII across various boards in India. The project was powered by Exams Topper and GradeUp Zone, with the objective of driving online education and providing free tuitions and study materials to underprivileged students.
